SEAI Better Energy Home Scheme
There has never been a better time to benefit from insulating your home. Eco-snug insulation are a registered contractor with SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, Contractor ID 13735) and we will gladly assist with your HES (Home Energy Saving) grant application.
Important: New Building Regulations (Part L) effective for External and Internal wall insulation works from 1 Nov. 2019
These changes will impact External or Internal Wall Insulation. In addition to these upgrades, you must achieve a B2 rating or ensure that you attic insulation and heating system comply with he new Building Regulations. BEC Scheme – KORE
Homeowners who participate in the Better Energy Communities Scheme, in conjunction with SEAI, may avail of grant funding towards a number of different measures to improve the energy efficiency of their home. Eco-snug is a registered contractor with Kore, who facilitate the BES Scheme, and we would be happy to discuss your eligibility for the scheme.
The following measures are included with grant funding of up to 80% available:
- Building fabric upgrades such as floor insulation, wall insulation, attic and roof insulation.
- Ventilation upgrades including mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.
- Heating system and control upgrades, including renewable technologies such as heat pumps.
- Solar PV systems that help generate electricity for the home and heat hot water.
- Window and door replacements to reduce draughts and increase air tightness.

Energy Efficiency Incentive
In association with Electric Ireland and KORE, Eco-snug can help you with your application.
KORE and Electric Ireland will process the energy credits you’re owed after completing your insulation upgrades and deduct the amount from your next electricity or gas bill. If you’re eligible for a cash grant from SEAI you’ll receive this separately.
How Does the Energy Efficiency Incentive Work?
To qualify for the Electric Ireland Energy Efficiency Incentive you must own a house built before 2006. You must also be an Electric Ireland customer. If you are with another provider you can easily switch to Electric Ireland to avail of this offer. You’re also entitled to any new customer promotions Electric Ireland may be offering at the time you switch!
This Incentive may also be combined with SEAI’s Better Energy Homes Scheme. This Scheme offers cash grants on qualifying measures. To avail of the Better Energy Homes Scheme you must own a home built before 2006 and you must not have participated in the Scheme in the past. If you qualify for both offers you’ll receive a discount on your electricity or gas bill, plus cash back from SEAI on a range of measures. The amount you pay out of pocket will be significantly reduced!
